What BASIS did at the 4th IGF 2009:

  • DAILY BUSINESS BRIEFINGS
    8:00-8:50 every day 15-18 November

A business briefing was held each morning during the forum from 8:00 - 8:50.
The briefings were open to all business participants, including business representatives who are not ICC-BASIS members.
Details regarding the morning briefings were sent via email before the event to those members who have confirmed their participation and were made available on the screens that display scheduling info
    rmation on-site.
  • Workshop "Internet governance: economic recovery and growth"
    17 November, 9:30-11:00
Workshop Room 1, Sinai, Maritim Sharm el-Sheikh International Congress Center

Co-organized by ICC/BASIS and Lithuania, the workshop was an interactive exchange on how addressing Internet governance issues appropriately can stimulate economic recovery and growth. By putting in place the necessary legal, policy and regulatory approaches that stimulate innovation, infrastructure and investment in the Internet (and ICTs) economies can be boosted. These issues were addressed through a discussion of case studies, best practices and substantive examples.

This workshop linked to capacity building, development issues and a broad range of broad IGF themes.
