Paris, 9 June 2006  To forge closer ties between law practitioners and academia, the Institute of World Business Law, part of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), has inaugurated its first-ever prize in academic research.

Banking commission approves revised rules on documentary credits
Paris, 25 October 2006  By a unanimous vote of 91 to 0, the ICC Banking Commission today approved UCP 600, ICC's revised rules on documentary credits. This is the first revision of the rules since UCP 500, the previous version, was approved in 1993.

Paris, 26 October 2005  ICC’s Banking Commission yesterday wrapped up two days of intense discussions on proposed revisions to ICC’s universally used rules on documentary credits. This was the first time a full draft of the revised rules had been presented to the Commission.

Paris, 6 October 2005  The International Chamber of Commerce today issued a tougher version of its Rules of Conduct to Combat Extortion and Bribery, including a stronger rejection of facilitation payments and a requirement that companies establish confidential channels for staff members to seek advice and report violations without fear of retaliation.

ICC calls for investment in ports as bottlenecks build up
Paris, 24 May 2005  ICC is concerned about the inadequacy of infrastructure serving many ports worldwide, threatening the smooth flow of global trade. It calls on the freight industry and public authorities to act now to expand freight transport infrastructure, reducing congestion on roads and railways to ports and eliminating bottlenecks. In many ports, freight containers are piling high as a result of bottlenecks.

ICC to wrap up new documentary credit rules this year
Paris, 16 May 2006  The ICC Banking Commission is working toward final approval of a revision to UCP 500, ICC's universally used rules on documentary credits. Three years in preparation, the revision, which may be completed as early as October, will contain major changes to rules which govern billions of dollars in letter of credit transactions each year.

Banking Commission approves document on international standard banking practice
Singapore, 27 April 2007   By a unanimous vote of 71-0, the ICC Commission on Banking Technique and Practice approved an updated version of its widely acclaimed publication, International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Credits (ISBP). The voting took place at the commission’s meeting in Singapore yesterday.
