U.S. Antitrust Modernization Commission

Summary of the Issue

The U.S. Antitrust Modernization Commission (AMC) was created in 2002 to examine the prospect of modernizing American antitrust laws and to identify and study related issues. As part of this process, the AMC solicits views of concerned parties with a view to conducting an evaluation of modernization proposals and submitting a report to Congress and the President outlining its conclusions.

ICC's Task Force on the AMC is preparing commentary on a variety of topics that are under consideration by the AMC, including submissions on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, single-firm conduct, and international issues. ICC is able to draw on a rich range of international perspectives from different sectors, and provides the views of its members with the intent of assisting the AMC in identifying priority areas for further work.
