ICC releases corporate governance report
Paris, 19 April 2007

The focus of this year’s roundtable was corporate governance developments in several new EU member states

The International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Financial Services and Insurance today issued its report from the Fourth Corporate Governance Roundtable which was held in Prague on 18 April 2007.

The focus of this year’s roundtable was corporate governance developments in several new EU member states – Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Topics explored in detail included the liberalization of trade and privatization, the expectations of the global investment community and the corporate governance challenges faced by non-listed companies, given the role they play in the overall economy.

Each year the ICC Commission on Financial Services and Insurance hosts business leaders, investors and experts at its Corporate Governance Roundtable. The discussion promotes business-to-business dialogue and recommends policies to enhance corporate governance practices throughout the world.

The roundtables are part of a series of ICC conferences looking at this issue.
