Amelie Pohl

Ms Amelie Stefanie Pohl (Dr.), born in 1973 in Salzburg, studied economics in Vienna and Linz, Austria, and law in Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck, Austria. Her PhD thesis at the University in Innsbruck was on "The influence of national mandatory Austrian law on international franchise contracts".

 

Ms Pohl worked for Syncon International Franchise Consultants in Salzburg from 1997 until 2002. At the same time she was an assistant to the board and project manager of the Austrian Franchise Association. Subsequently, she worked for Wolf Theiss & Partner in Vienna from 2002 until 2005 as a legal assistant. In 2004/2005 she did her practical year at a civil court as well as at the Commercial Court in Vienna.

 

From 2005 until 2010 Ms Pohl worked as associate at Tigges Attorneys in Austria/Kitzbühel and has specialised in franchising (national and international under German and Austrian Law). Ms Pohl is since 2007 also part of the legal committee of the Austrian Franchise Association. Since 2010 she has been an associate at PF&P Attorneys in Austria/Kitzbuhel specialised in national and international distribution (franchising) as well as cartel law. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Dortmund/Germany on gender and franchising and published regularly on international distribution and franchising since 2002. Since 2008 she has been rapporteur of the Task Force Franchising of the ICC in Paris.
