RA Steinberger is a specialist in the field of national and international contract law, the law of the European Union, competition law and product liability.  RA Steinberger is German delegate to the ICC in Paris and has worked closely with the ICC for more than ten years.  He represented the interests of the industry during the recent revision of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees – URDG 758.

Vitae

After graduating in law at the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, in 1984, Christian Steinberger joined Legal Services of VDMA – the German Engineering Federation and has since specialised in national and international contract law, product liability, the law of the European Union and competition law.  Christian Steinberger was appointed head of the department in 2001.

RA Steinberger assists companies particularly in the field of international contracts, competition law and all questions of EU law.  He regularly gives seminars and lectures on contract law topics, antitrust, product liability and EU law matters.  He is a dedicated contributor to national and international working groups drafting and publishing model contracts and standard conditions for the industry.

VDMA is the largest engineering association in Europe. VDMA serves as the representative, service provider and exchange platform for some 3,000 German and European companies from the mechanical engineering sector.  About 86 % of VDMA members are, according to the EU definition, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).  Two thirds employ even less than 100 people.  Mechanical engineering companies employ 920.000 men and women in Germany (2009).  The sales volume totals 160 billion (2009) with an export share of more than 75 %.
