ICC condemns piracy in the Gulf of Aden
Paris, 22 September 2008
The ICC Committee on Maritime Transport strongly condemns the recent violent attacks on merchant ships by pirates operating in Somali waters, particularly in the Gulf of Aden. The attacks are significantly increasing in number and intensity.

ICC supports IMO amendments on vessel air emissions
14 April 2008  ICC’s Committee on Maritime Transport acknowledges and supports the amendments on vessel air emissions proposed by the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) on 4 April 2008.

ICC calls for investment in ports as bottlenecks build up
Paris, 24 May 2005  ICC is concerned about the inadequacy of infrastructure serving many ports worldwide, threatening the smooth flow of global trade. It calls on the freight industry and public authorities to act now to expand freight transport infrastructure, reducing congestion on roads and railways to ports and eliminating bottlenecks. In many ports, freight containers are piling high as a result of bottlenecks.

ICC urges compliance with international shipping code
Paris, 28 May 2004  ICC calls on governments to urgently process applications for ISPS Code compliance before the 1 July 2004 deadline and warns that failure to meet the deadline could seriously disrupt or at worse bring to a halt the flow of international commerce.

Tighten security to guard against terrorists, but not at the expense of trade
Paris, 26 November, 2002   ICC, the world business organization, issued a statement today on behalf of transport companies all over the globe, urging governments not to let tightened security measures slow down the flow of world trade.
